One panel of this Ettalong Beach property’s Colorbond fence had been left in dark grey, standing out against the Surfmist finish running along the rest of the boundary. The block walls around the property were still raw cement, and the owner wanted them brought into line with the colours already on the house.
We started by pressure-washing the fence and the block walls, clearing off cement residue and mud to leave a clean, sound surface for the coatings to key into.
The fence was recoated in Wattyl self-priming exterior paint matched to Surfmist, giving a smooth, even finish across the full run. The block walls were finished in Taubmans Sunproof exterior-grade paint, which holds its colour against the coastal sun and sits well over the coarse texture of the blockwork.
Two weeks of near-relentless rain stretched the job out well beyond what it should have taken. The result was worth the wait — the colours blend into the dwellings so closely that the repainted panel can no longer be picked.
